Acts 1:6

6While Jesus' apostles were together with him, they asked him, ‘Lord, at this time will you now give the kingdom back to us, the people of Israel?’1:6 At the time of Jesus, Israel was the country where the Jews lived. Israel's people were descendants of Jacob. God gave Jacob a new name, ‘Israel’. See Genesis 35.
