3God said to Abraham, “Leave your own country and your own family and go to a different country. I will show you where that will be.”7:3 Abraham was the first ancestor of the Israelite nation, and of other nations. He was the father of Isaac and the grandfather of Jacob. Abraham lived with his father in a city called Ur. See Genesis 11:31.
