Psalm 111
The Lord Praised for His Goodness.
1 111:1 Or Hallelujah! I willPraise 111:1 Heb Yahthe Lord!
I will give thanks to the Lord with all my heart,
In the company of the upright and in the assembly.
2Great are the works of the Lord;
They are 111:2 Lit sought outstudied by all who delight in them.
3 111:3 Lit Splendor and majestySplendid and majestic is His work,
And His righteousness endures forever.
4He has caused His 111:4 I.e., wonderful actswonders 111:4 Lit a memorialto be remembered;
The Lord is gracious and compassionate.
5He has given 111:5 Lit preyfood to those who 111:5 Or reverefear Him;
He will remember His covenant forever.
6He has made known to His people the power of His works,
In giving them the inheritance of the nations.
7¶The works of His hands are 111:7 Or faithfulnesstruth and justice;
All His precepts are trustworthy.
8They are upheld forever and ever;
They are performed in 111:8 Or faithfulnesstruth and uprightness.
9He has sent redemption to His people;
He has 111:9 Lit commandedordained His covenant forever;
Holy and 111:9 I.e., inspiring reverenceawesome is His name.
10The 111:10 Or reverence forfear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom;
All those who 111:10 Lit do themfollow His commandments have a good understanding;
His praise endures forever.
