1 Chronicles 9:27

27They would spend the night stationed around the house of God, because they had to guard it; and they had charge of the key for opening it each morning.

27They stayed around God’s house, because that was their duty; and it was their duty to open it morning by morning.

27They spent the night in their positions around the house of God. That’s because they had to guard it. They were in charge of the key that opened it each morning.

27They stayed at their places around God's house during each night. It was their work to keep it safe. Each morning they would use their key to open the gates.

27and they lodge around the house of God, for the watch [is] on them, and they [are] over the opening, even morning by morning.
