1 Corinthians 1:28

28God chose the lowly things of this world and the despised things—and the things that are not—to nullify the things that are,

28God has selected [for His purpose] the insignificant (base) things of the world, and the things that are despised and treated with contempt, [even] the things that are nothing, so that He might reduce to nothing the things that are,

28He chose the lowly and despised things of the world, and the things that are not, to nullify the things that are,

28God chose the things of this world that are common and looked down on. God chose things considered unimportant to do away with things considered important.
