1 Kings 11:2

2They were from nations about which the Lord had told the Israelites, “You must not intermarry with them, because they will surely turn your hearts after their gods.” Nevertheless, Solomon held fast to them in love.

2from the nations of which the Lord had said to the sons of Israel, “You shall not 11:2 Lit go amongassociate with them, nor shall they 11:2 Lit go amongassociate with you; they will certainly turn your heart away 11:2 Lit after theirto follow their gods.” Solomon clung to these in love.

2from the nations concerning which the Lord had said to the sons of Israel, “You shall not associate with them, nor shall they associate with you, for they will surely turn your heart away after their gods.” Solomon held fast to these in love.

2from the very nations of whom the Lord said to the Israelites, “You shall not associate with them, nor shall they associate with you, for the result will be that they will turn away your hearts to follow their gods.” Yet Solomon clung to these in love. [Deut 17:17]

2The Lord had warned Israel about women from other nations. He had said, “You must not marry them. If you do, you can be sure they will turn your hearts toward their gods.” But Solomon continued to love them anyway. He wouldn’t give them up.
