1 Kings 11:7

7On a hill east of Jerusalem, Solomon built a high place for Chemosh the detestable god of Moab, and for Molek the detestable god of the Ammonites.

7Then Solomon built a high place for Chemosh, the abhorrent idol of Moab, on the mountain that is 11:7 Lit beforeeast of Jerusalem, and for Molech, the abhorrent idol of the sons of Ammon.

7Then Solomon built a 11:7 I.e. an altar on the top of a hill, which was customary for pagan worship. The only proper place for worship was the temple.high place for [worshiping] Chemosh the horror (detestable idol) of Moab, on the hill which is east of Jerusalem, and for Molech the horror (detestable idol) of the sons of Ammon.

7At that time on a hill east of Jerusalem, Solomon built a high place for Chemosh the abomination of Moab and for Molech the abomination of the Ammonites.

7There is a hill east of Jerusalem. Solomon built a high place for worshiping Chemosh there. He built a high place for worshiping Molek there too. Chemosh was the god of Moab. Molek was the god of Ammon. The Lord hated both of those gods.
