3The fighting grew fierce around Saul, and when the archers overtook him, they wounded him critically.

3The Philistines were fighting the battle all around Saul. Some of their soldiers saw Saul and they shot their arrows at him. The arrows hurt Saul very much and he was nearly dead.

3And the battle is hard against Saul, and the archers find him—men with bow—and he is greatly pained by the archers;
