2 Corinthians 1:22

22set his seal of ownership on us, and put his Spirit in our hearts as a deposit, guaranteeing what is to come.

22who also sealed us and gave us the Spirit in our hearts as a pledge.

22it is He who has also put His seal on us [that is, He has appropriated us and certified us as His] and has given us the [Holy] Spirit in our hearts as a pledge [like a security deposit to guarantee the fulfillment of His promise of eternal life].

22He put his Spirit in our hearts and marked us as his own. We can now be sure that he will give us everything he promised us.

22He has also put his mark on us, to show that we belong to him. He has given his Spirit to us, to live in us. Because of that, we know that we will receive all the good things that God has promised.
