2 Kings 8:19

19Nevertheless, for the sake of his servant David, the Lord was not willing to destroy Judah. He had promised to maintain a lamp for David and his descendants forever.

19However, the Lord did not want to destroy Judah, for the sake of David His servant, since He had 8:19 Lit said to himpromised him to give him a 8:19 I.e., descendant on the thronelamp through his sons always.

19But the Lord didn’t want to destroy Judah. That’s because the Lord had made a covenant with his servant David. The Lord had promised to keep the lamp of David’s kingdom burning brightly. The Lord had promised that for him and his children after him forever.
