2 Peter 1:5

5For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge;

5Now for this very reason also, applying all diligence, in your faith supply moral excellence, and in your moral excellence, knowledge,

5For this very reason, applying your diligence [to the divine promises], make every effort in [exercising] your faith to develop moral excellence, and in moral excellence, knowledge (insight, understanding),

5For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith virtue; and to virtue, knowledge;

5Yea, and for this very cause adding on your part all diligence, in your faith supply virtue; and in your virtue knowledge;

5Therefore giue euen all diligence thereunto: ioyne moreouer vertue with your faith: and with vertue, knowledge:

5Yes, and for this very cause adding on your part all diligence, in your faith supply moral excellence; and in moral excellence, knowledge;

5So you should try very hard to add goodness to your faith. To goodness, add knowledge.

5God has done all this to help you. So now that you believe in Christ, you must grow as believers. Always try to do what is good. Then you should start to know God more.

5And [for] this same [reason] also, having brought in all diligence, supplement your faith with virtue, and with virtue—knowledge,
