9David then took up residence in the fortress and called it the City of David. He built up the area around it, from the terraces inward.

9Then David went to live in the strong place of the city. He called it ‘The City of David’. He built more houses all around it, from the edge of the hill into the city.

9And David dwells in the fortress, and calls it the City of David, and David builds all around, from Millo and inward,
