Acts 28:18

18They examined me and wanted to release me, because I was not guilty of any crime deserving death.

18And when they had examined me, they were willing to release me because there were no grounds for putting me to death.

18They questioned me. And they wanted to let me go. They saw I wasn’t guilty of any crime worthy of death.

18The Roman rulers asked me questions about what I had done. They discovered that I had not done anything wrong. There was no reason that they should kill me. So they wanted to let me go free.
