Deuteronomy 8:5

5Know then in your heart that as a man disciplines his son, so the Lord your God disciplines you.

5So you are to know in your heart that the Lord your God was disciplining you just as a man disciplines his son.

5Therefore, know in your heart (be fully cognizant) that the Lord your God disciplines and instructs you just as a man disciplines and instructs his son.

5So know in your heart that just as a man disciplines his son, so the Lord your God disciplines you.

5And thou shalt consider in thy heart, that, as a man chasteneth his son, so Jehovah thy God chasteneth thee.

5Knowe therefore in thine heart, that as a man nourtereth his sonne, so the Lord thy God nourtereth thee.

5You shall consider in your heart that as a man disciplines his son, so Yahweh your God disciplines you.

5Here is what I want you to know in your hearts. The Lord your God guides you, just as parents guide their children.

5You should realize that the Lord your God wants you to learn what is right. When he punishes you, he is warning you. That is what a parent does to teach his child.

5and you have known with your heart that as a man disciplines his son, your God YHWH is disciplining you,
