Ephesians 1:18

18I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people,

18And [I pray] that the eyes of your heart [the very center and core of your being] may be enlightened [flooded with light by the Holy Spirit], so that you will know and cherish the 1:18 In the NT the word “hope” expresses a cherished desire along with the confident assurance of obtaining that which is longed for.hope [the divine guarantee, the confident expectation] to which He has called you, the riches of His glorious inheritance in the 1:18 See note v 1.saints (God’s people),

18I ask that the eyes of your heart1:18 TR the eyes of your understanding may be enlightened, so that you may know the hope of His calling, the riches of His glorious inheritance in the saints,

18I pray that you may understand more clearly. Then you will know the hope God has chosen you to receive. You will know that what God will give his holy people is rich and glorious.
