Exodus 3:1

1Now Moses was tending the flock of Jethro his father-in-law, the priest of Midian, and he led the flock to the far side of the wilderness and came to Horeb, the mountain of God.

1Now Moses was keeping the flock of Jethro (Reuel) his father-in-law, the priest of Midian; and he led his flock to the west side of the wilderness and came to Horeb (Sinai), the mountain of God.

1 Meanwhile, Moses was shepherding the flock of his father-in-law Jethro,3:1 Moses’ father-in-law Jethro was also called Reuel; see Exodus 2:18. the priest of Midian. He led the flock to the far side of the wilderness and came to Horeb,3:1 That is, Mount Sinai, or possibly a mountain in the range containing Mount Sinai the mountain of God.

1Moses was taking care of the flock of his father-in-law Jethro. Jethro was the priest of Midian. Moses led the flock to the western side of the desert. He came to Horeb. It was the mountain of God.
