12But the Law does not rest on or require faith [it has nothing to do with faith], but [instead, the Law] says, “He who practices them [the things prescribed by the Law] shall live by them [instead of faith].” [Lev 18:5]
12The law is not based on faith. In fact, it is just the opposite. It teaches that “the person who does these things will live by them.” (Leviticus 18:5)
12But the Law does not tell people to trust God. It tells people about all the things that they must do. The Law says, ‘The person who obeys all the rules in God's Law will live’.
