Galatians 4:5

5to redeem those under the law, that we might receive adoption to sonship.4:5 The Greek word for adoption to sonship is a legal term referring to the full legal standing of an adopted male heir in Roman culture.

5so that He might redeem those who were under 4:5 Or lawthe Law, that we might receive the adoption as sons and daughters.

5He came to set free those who were under the authority of the law. He wanted us to be adopted as children with all the rights children have.
