12Therefore even from one man, and one who was as good as dead at that, there were born descendants who were just as the stars of heaven in number, and as the innumerable grains of sand along the seashore.
12So from one man, though he was [physically] as good as dead, were born as many descendantsas the stars of heaven in number, and innumerable as the sand on the seashore. [Gen 15:5, 6; 22:17; 32:12]
12wherefore also there sprang of one, and him as good as dead, so many as the stars of heaven in multitude, and as the sand, which is by the sea-shore, innumerable.
12And therefore sprang there of one, euen of one which was dead, so many as the starres of the skie in multitude, and as the land of the sea shore which is innumerable.
12Therefore as many as the stars of the sky in multitude, and as innumerable as the sand which is by the sea shore, were fathered by one man, and him as good as dead.
12Abraham was past the time when he could have children. But many children came from that one man. They were as many as the stars in the sky. They were as many as the grains of sand on the seashore. No one could count them.
12Abraham was so old that he was almost like a dead man. But from this one man there came very many descendants. There were so many that nobody could count them. They were like the number of stars in the sky. They were as many as the bits of sand on the shore of the sea.
12for this reason, also, from one—and that of one who had become dead—were begotten as the stars of the sky in multitude, and innumerable as the sand that [is] by the seashore.
