8She has not acknowledged that I was the one

who gave her the grain, the new wine and oil,

who lavished on her the silver and gold—

which they used for Baal.

8¶“Yet she does not know that it was I myself who gave her the grain, the new wine, and the oil,

And lavished on her silver and gold,

Which they 2:8 Or made into theused for Baal.

8“For she does not know that it was I who gave her the grain, the new wine and the oil,

And lavished on her silver and gold,

Which they used for Baal.

8¶“For she (Israel) has not noticed nor understood nor realized that it was I [the Lord God] who gave her the grain and the new wine and the oil,

And lavished on her silver and gold,

Which they used for Baal and made into his image.

8For she does not acknowledge

that it was I who gave her grain,

new wine, and oil,

who lavished on her silver and gold —

which they crafted for Baal.

8She wouldn’t admit that I was the one

who gave her everything she had.

I provided her with grain, olive oil and fresh wine.

I gave her plenty of silver and gold.

But she used it to make statues of Baal.
