8“Ephraim mixes with the nations;

Ephraim is a flat loaf not turned over.

8¶Ephraim is himself thrown about with the nations;

Ephraim has become a round loaf not turned over.

8¶Ephraim mixes himself with the [Gentile] nations [seeking favor with one country, then another];

Ephraim is a cake not turned [worthless; ready to be thrown away].

8Ephraim mixes with the nations;

Ephraim is an unturned cake.

8Ephraim, he mixeth himself among the peoples; Ephraim is a cake not turned.
