James 1:19

19My dear brothers and sisters, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry,

19 You know this, my beloved brothers and sisters. Now everyone must be quick to hear, slow to speak, and slow to anger;

19Understand this, my beloved brothers and sisters. Let everyone be quick to hear [be a careful, thoughtful listener], slow to speak [a speaker of carefully chosen words and], slow to anger [patient, reflective, forgiving];

19My beloved brothers, understand this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to anger,

19Ye know this, my beloved brethren. But let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath:

19Wherefore my deare brethren, let euery man be swift to heare, slowe to speake, and slowe to wrath.

19So, then, my beloved brothers, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, and slow to anger;

19My dear brothers and sisters, pay attention to what I say. Everyone should be quick to listen. But they should be slow to speak. They should be slow to get angry.

19Understand this, my Christian friends: We must all be careful to listen. We should not be too quick to speak. We should not get angry quickly.

19So then, my beloved brothers, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to anger,
