James 4:1

1What causes fights and quarrels among you? Don’t they come from your desires that battle within you?

1 What is the source of quarrels and conflicts among you? Is the source not your pleasures that wage war in your body’s parts?

1What leads to [the unending] quarrels and conflicts among you? Do they not come from your [hedonistic] desires that wage war in your [bodily] members [fighting for control over you]?

1What causes conflicts and quarrels among you? Don’t they come from the passions at war within you?

1Whence come wars and whence come fightings among you? come they not hence, even of your pleasures that war in your members?

1From whence are warres and contentions among you? are they not hence, euen of your pleasures, that fight in your members?

1Where do wars and fightings among you come from? Don’t they come from your pleasures that war in your members?

1Why do you fight and argue among yourselves? Isn’t it because of your sinful desires? They fight within you.

1You fight and quarrel among yourselves. Do you know why that happens? It is because of the troubles in your thoughts. You want to do bad things that you think will make you happy.

1From where [are] wars and fightings among you? [Is it] not from here, out of your passions warring in your members?
