Joshua 15:13

13In accordance with the Lord’s command to him, Joshua gave to Caleb son of Jephunneh a portion in Judah—Kiriath Arba, that is, Hebron. (Arba was the forefather of Anak.)

13Now he gave to Caleb the son of Jephunneh a portion among the sons of Judah, in accordance with the 15:13 Lit mouthcommand of the Lord to Joshua, namely, 15:13 I.e., the city of ArbaKiriath-arba, Arba being the father of Anak (that is, Hebron).

13Joshua gave a part of Judah’s share of land to Caleb, the son of Jephunneh. That was according to the Lord’s command to Joshua. The share Caleb received was the city of Hebron. It was also called Kiriath Arba. Anak came from the family line of Arba.
