16Then Samson said,

“With a donkey’s jawbone

I have made donkeys of them.15:16 Or made a heap or two; the Hebrew for donkey sounds like the Hebrew for heap.

With a donkey’s jawbone

I have killed a thousand men.”

16And Samson said,

“With the jawbone of a donkey,

15:16 Lit Heap, two heaps; Heb is same root as donkeyHeaps upon heaps,

With the jawbone of a donkey

I have 15:16 Lit struckkilled a thousand men.”

16Then Samson said,

“With the jawbone of a donkey,

Heaps upon heaps,

With the jawbone of a donkey

I have killed a thousand men.”

16Then Samson said,

“With the jawbone of a donkey,

Heaps upon heaps,

With the jawbone of a donkey

I have struck down a thousand men.”

16Then Samson said:

“With the jawbone of a donkey

I have piled them into heaps.15:16 Or I have made them into donkeys

I have slain a thousand men.”

16Then Samson said,

“By using a donkey’s jawbone

I’ve made them look like donkeys.

By using a donkey’s jawbone

I’ve struck down 1,000 men.”
