Mark 12:40

40[these scribes] who devour (confiscate) widows’ houses, and offer long prayers for appearance’s sake [to impress others]. These men will receive greater condemnation.”

40They defraud widows of their houses, and for a show make lengthy prayers. These men will receive greater condemnation.”

40they that devour widows’ houses, and for a pretence make long prayers; these shall receive greater condemnation.

40Which deuoure widowes houses, euen vnder a colour of long prayers. These shall receiue the greater damnation.

40They take over the houses of widows. They say long prayers to show off. God will punish these men very much.”

40But these men take things away from women after their husbands have died, even their houses. Then they pray for a long time so that other people will praise them. Because they do these things, God will punish those men much more than other people.’
