Matthew 12:5

5Or haven’t you read in the Law that the priests on Sabbath duty in the temple desecrate the Sabbath and yet are innocent?

5Or have you not read in the Law that on the Sabbath the priests in the temple violate the Sabbath, and yet are innocent?

5Or have you not read in the Law, that on the Sabbath the priests in the temple break [the sanctity of] the Sabbath and yet are innocent? [Num 28:9, 10]

5Or haven’t you read in the Law that on the Sabbath the priests in the temple break the Sabbath and yet are innocent?

5Or have ye not read in the law, that on the sabbath day the priests in the temple profane the sabbath, and are guiltless?

5Or haue ye not read in the Lawe, how that on the Sabbath dayes the Priestes in the Temple breake the Sabbath, and are blameles?

5Haven’t you read the Law? It tells how every Sabbath day the priests in the temple have to do their work on that day. But they are not considered guilty.

5You also know what God's Law says about the priests. They work in the temple, even on the day of rest. They have not obeyed the Law about the day of rest. But God's Law tells us that they have not done anything that is wrong.

5Or did you not read in the Law that on the Sabbaths the priests in the temple profane the Sabbath and are blameless?
