4Nadab and Abihu, however, died before the Lord when they made an offering with unauthorized fire before him in the Desert of Sinai. They had no sons, so Eleazar and Ithamar served as priests during the lifetime of their father Aaron.
4But Nadab and Abihu died in the presence of the Lord when they offered 3:4 I.e., prohibitedstrange fire before the Lord in the wilderness of Sinai; and they had no children. So Eleazar and Ithamar served as priests 3:4 Lit before the facein the lifetime of their father Aaron.
