15Whoever puts up security for a stranger will surely suffer,

but whoever refuses to shake hands in pledge is safe.

15One who is a guarantor for a stranger will certainly suffer for it,

But one who hates 11:15 Lit those who strike handsbeing a guarantor is secure.

15He who is guarantor for a stranger will surely suffer for it,

But he who hates being a guarantor is secure.

15He who puts up security and guarantees a debt for an outsider will surely suffer [for his foolishness],

But he who hates (declines) being a guarantor is secure [from its penalties].
