Romans 7:18

18For I know that good itself does not dwell in me, that is, in my sinful nature. For I have the desire to do what is good, but I cannot carry it out.

18For I know that good does not dwell in me, that is, in my flesh; for the willing is present in me, but the doing of the good is not.

18For I know that nothing good lives in me, that is, in my flesh [my human nature, my worldliness—my sinful capacity]. For the willingness [to do good] is present in me, but the doing of good is not.

18For I know that in me, that is, in my flesh, dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me, but to do that which is good is not.

18For I know that in me, that is, in my flesh, dwells no good thing. For desire is present with me, but I don’t find it doing that which is good.

18I know there is nothing good in my desires controlled by sin. I want to do what is good, but I can’t.

18I know that there is nothing good in me. I am weak and human. I want to do what is good. But I am unable to do it.

18for I have known that there does not dwell in me, that is, in my flesh, good: for to will is present with me, and I do not find to work that which is right,
