Romans 7:8

8But sin, seizing the opportunity afforded by the commandment, produced in me every kind of coveting. For apart from the law, sin was dead.

8But sin, taking an opportunity through the commandment, produced in me coveting of every kind; for apart from the Law sin is dead.

8But sin, finding an opportunity through the commandment [to express itself] produced in me every kind of coveting and selfish desire. For without the Law sin is dead [the recognition of sin is inactive].

8But sin, seizing its opportunity through the commandment, produced in me every kind of covetous desire. For apart from the law, sin is dead.

8but sin, finding occasion, wrought in me through the commandment all manner of coveting: for apart from the law sin is dead.

8But sinne tooke an occasion by ye commandement, and wrought in me all maner of concupiscence: for without the Lawe sinne is dead.

8But sin, finding occasion through the commandment, produced in me all kinds of coveting. For apart from the law, sin is dead.

8But the commandment gave sin an opportunity. Sin caused me to want all kinds of things that belong to others. A person can’t sin by breaking a law if that law doesn’t exist.

8But the command gave sin a chance to come into my thoughts. As a result, I started to want all kinds of wrong things. If there is no law to tell us what is wrong, then sin has no power to make us guilty.

8“You will not covet”; and sin having received an opportunity, through the command, worked in me all covetousness—for apart from law sin is dead.
