29It is just as Isaiah said previously:

“Unless the Lord Almighty

had left us descendants,

we would have become like Sodom,

we would have been like Gomorrah.”9:29 Isaiah 1:9

29And just as Isaiah foretold:

“If the Lord 9:29 Gr sabaoth, for Heb tsebaoth (armies)of armies had not left us 9:29 Lit seeddescendants,

We would have become like Sodom, and would have 9:29 Lit been made likebeen like Gomorrah.”

29And just as Isaiah foretold,

“Unless the Lord of Sabaoth had left to us a posterity,

We would have become like Sodom, and would have resembled Gomorrah.”

29It is as Isaiah foretold,

“If the Lord of Hosts had not left us seed [future generations from which a believing remnant of Israelites came],

We would have become like Sodom, and would have resembled Gomorrah [totally rejected and destroyed]!” [Is 1:9]
