1 Samuel 2:16

16If the person said to him, “Let the fat be burned first, and then take whatever you want,” the servant would answer, “No, hand it over now; if you don’t, I’ll take it by force.”

16And if the man said to him, “They must 2:16 Lit offer up in smokeburn the fat 2:16 Lit as the dayfirst, then take as much as 2:16 Lit your soul desiresyou desire,” then he would say, “No, but you must give it to me now; and if not, I am taking it by force!”

16If the man said to him, “They must surely burn the fat first, and then take as much as you desire,” then he would say, “No, but you shall give it to me now; and if not, I will take it by force.”

16If the man said to him, “2:16 The Law of Moses required all the fat to be burned on the altar as an offering to God (Lev 3:16), so the worshiper would be reluctant to agree to the priest’s demand.Certainly they are to burn (offer) the fat first, and then you may take as much as 2:16 Lit your soul wants.you want,” then the priest’s servant would say, “No! You shall give it to me now or I will take it by force.”

16And if any man said to him, “The fat must be burned first; then you may take whatever you want,” the servant would reply, “No, you must give it to me right now. If you refuse, I will take it by force!”

16Sometimes the person would say to him, “Let the fat be burned first. Then take what you want.” But the servant would answer, “No. Hand it over right now. If you don’t, I’ll take it away from you by force.”
