25You spoke by the Holy Spirit through the mouth of your servant, our father David:

“ ‘Why do the nations rage

and the peoples plot in vain?

25who by the Holy Spirit, through the mouth of our father David Your servant, said,

‘Why were the nations insolent,

And the peoples plotting in vain?

25who by the Holy Spirit, through the mouth of our father David, Your servant, said,

‘Why did the nations (Gentiles) become arrogant and rage,

And the peoples devise futile things [against the Lord]?

25You spoke by the Holy Spirit through the mouth of Your servant, our father David:

‘Why do the nations rage

and the peoples plot in vain?

25who by the Holy Spirit, by the mouth of our father David thy servant, didst say,

Why did the Gentiles rage,

And the peoples imagine vain things?

25Which by the mouth of thy seruant Dauid hast saide, Why did the Gentiles rage, and the people imagine vaine things?

25who by the mouth of your servant David, said,

‘Why do the nations rage,

and the peoples plot a vain thing?

25Long ago you spoke by the Holy Spirit. You spoke through the mouth of our father David, who served you. You said,

“ ‘Why are the nations angry?

Why do the people make useless plans?

25Our ancestor, King David, was your servant. You sent your Holy Spirit to him so that he spoke your message. You said through him,

“People of other nations were very angry.

They made plans to do useless things.

Why did they do that?
