6When a trumpet sounds in a city,

do not the people tremble?

When disaster comes to a city,

has not the Lord caused it?

6If a trumpet is blown in a city, will the people not tremble?

If a disaster occurs in a city, has the Lord not brought it about?

6If a trumpet is blown in a city [warning of danger] will not the people tremble?

If a disaster or misfortune occurs in a city has not the Lord caused it?

6If a ram’s horn sounds in a city,

do the people not tremble?

If calamity comes to a city,

has not the Lord caused it?

6Shall the trumpet be blown in a city, and the people not be afraid? shall evil befall a city, and Jehovah hath not done it?

6Or shall a trumpet be blowen in the citie, and the people be not afraide? or shall there be euil in a citie, and the Lord hath not done it?

6Does the trumpet alarm sound in a city,

without the people being afraid?

Does evil happen to a city,

and Yahweh hasn’t done it?

6When someone blows a trumpet in a city,

don’t the people tremble with fear?

When trouble comes to a city,

hasn’t the Lord caused it?

6Also, if the people in a city hear a trumpet's sound, they become very afraid. If bad trouble comes to a city, it means that the Lord has sent it.

6Is a horn blown in a city, || And do people not tremble? Is there affliction in a city, || And YHWH has not done [it]?
