Exodus 17:7

7And he called the place Massah17:7 Massah means testing. and Meribah17:7 Meribah means quarreling. because the Israelites quarreled and because they tested the Lord saying, “Is the Lord among us or not?”

7Moses called the place Massah and Meribah. That’s because the people of Israel argued with him there. They also tested the Lord. They asked, “Is the Lord among us or not?”
