Exodus 22:15

15But if the owner is with the animal, the borrower will not have to pay. If the animal was hired, the money paid for the hire covers the loss.

15If its owner is with it, the borrower shall not be compelled to make restitution. If it is hired, it 22:15 I.e., the fee covers the losscame by its hire.

15If its owner is with it, he shall not make restitution; if it is hired, it came for its hire.

15But if the owner is with it [when the damage is done], the borrower shall not make restitution. If it was hired, the damage is included in [the price of] its fee.

15If the owner was present, no restitution is required. If the animal was rented, the fee covers the loss.

15But suppose the owner is with the animal. Then the borrower will not have to pay. If the borrower hired the animal, the money paid to hire it covers the loss.
