Hebrews 12:10

10They disciplined us for a little while as they thought best; but God disciplines us for our good, in order that we may share in his holiness.

10Our fathers disciplined us for a short time as they thought best, but God disciplines us for our good, so that we may share in His holiness.

10For they verely for a few dayes chastened vs after their owne pleasure: but he chasteneth vs for our profite, that we might be partakers of his holinesse.

10For they indeed for a few days disciplined us as seemed good to them, but he for our profit, that we may be partakers of his holiness.

10Our parents trained us for a little while. They did what they thought was best. But God trains us for our good. He does this so we may share in his holiness.

10Our human fathers punished us for a few years. They did this in a way that they thought was good. But God punishes us in a way that will really help us. As a result, we can become completely good, like he is.

10For they, indeed, for a few days, according to what seemed good to them, were disciplining, but He for profit, to be partakers of His separation;
