Hebrews 9:16

16In the case of a will, it is necessary to prove the death of the one who made it,

16For where there is a covenant, there must of necessity be the death of the one who made it.

16For where there is a will and testament involved, the death of the one who made it must be established,

16For where a testament is, there must of necessity be the death of him that made it.

16For where a Testament is, there must be the death of him that made the Testament.

16For where a last will and testament is, there must of necessity be the death of him who made it.

16What happens when someone leaves a will? It is necessary to prove that the person who made the will has died.

16Think about this. A person may make an agreement about who will receive his things after his death. But nobody receives anything until it is clear that the person has really died.
