Jeremiah 3:9

9Because Israel’s immorality mattered so little to her, she defiled the land and committed adultery with stone and wood.

9And because of the thoughtlessness of her prostitution, she defiled the land and committed 3:9 I.e., idolatryadultery with stones and trees.

9Because of the lightness of her harlotry, she polluted the land and committed adultery with stones and trees.

9Because of the thoughtlessness of Israel’s prostitution [her immorality mattered little to her], she desecrated the land and committed adultery with [idols of] stones and trees.

9Indifferent to her own infidelity, Israel had defiled the land and committed adultery with stones and trees.

9Israel was not faithful to me, but that did not bother them at all. They made the land ‘unclean.’ They worshiped gods that were made out of stone and wood.
