Jeremiah 39:3

3Then all the officials of the king of Babylon came in and sat down at the Middle Gate: Nergal-sar-ezer, Samgar-nebu, Sar-sekim the 39:3 I.e., chief officialRab-saris, Nergal-sar-ezer the 39:3 I.e., title of a high officialRab-mag, and all the rest of the officials of the king of Babylon.

3Then all the officials of the king of Babylon came in and sat in the Middle Gate [establishing both military control of the city and their authority to judge the captives]: Nergal-sar-ezer, Samgar-nebu, Sar-sekim the Rab-saris (chief of the eunuchs), and 39:3 Nergal-sar-ezer the Rab-mag, the son-in-law of Nebuchadnezzar, ascended to the Babylonian throne in 560 b.c. after causing the death of Nebuchadnezzar’s son, Evil-merodach. Nergal-sar-ezer then ruled the Babylonian Empire until 556 b.c.Nergal-sar-ezer the Rab-mag (chief of the magicians), with all the rest of the officials of the king of Babylon.

3Then all the officials of the king of Babylon entered and sat in the Middle Gate: Nergal-sharezer of Samgar, Nebo-sarsekim39:3 Or Nergal-sharezer, Samgar-nebo, Sarsekim the Rabsaris,39:3 Hebrew Rabsaris is the title of the chief eunuch in the Assyrian military; also in verse 13. Nergal-sharezer the Rabmag,39:3 Hebrew Rabmag is the title of the chief soothsayer or chief of princes in the Assyrian military; also in verse 13. and all the rest of the officials of the king of Babylon.
