24In frenzied excitement it eats up the ground;

it cannot stand still when the trumpet sounds.

24“He 39:24 Lit swallows upraces over the ground with a roar and fury,

And he does not stand still when he hears the sound of the trumpet.

24With shaking and rage he races over the ground,

And he does not stand still at the voice of the trumpet.

24“With fierceness and rage he races to devour the ground,

And he does not stand still at the sound of the [war] trumpet.

24Trembling with excitement, he devours the distance;

he cannot stand still when the ram’s horn sounds.
