John 5:16

16So, because Jesus was doing these things on the Sabbath, the Jewish leaders began to persecute him.

16Jesus was doing these things on the Sabbath day. So the Jewish leaders began to oppose him.

16The Jewish leaders were angry because Jesus had made a man well on their day of rest. As a result, they began to cause a lot of trouble for Jesus.

16and because of this were the Jews persecuting Jesus, and seeking to kill Him, because these things He was doing on a Sabbath.
