John 6:10

10Jesus said, “Have the people sit down.” There was plenty of grass in that place, and they sat down (about five thousand men were there).

10Jesus said, “Have the people recline to eat.” Now there was plenty of grass in the place. So the men reclined, about 6:10 I.e., 5,000 men plus women and children, cf. Matt 14:21five thousand in number.

10Jesus said, “Have the people sit down.” Now there was much grass in the place. So the men sat down, in number about five thousand.

10Jesus said, “Have the people sit down [to eat].” Now [the ground] there was [covered with] an abundance of grass, so the men sat down, about 6:10 With this number of men, the total number of people may have exceeded 10,000. The disciples did not have enough money to buy so much food, and the small villages in the area would not have had a sufficient quantity of bread to sell to them.5,000 in number.
