Luke 14:8

8“When someone invites you to a wedding feast, do not take the place of honor, for a person more distinguished than you may have been invited.

8“Whenever you are invited by someone to a wedding feast, do not take the place of honor, for someone more distinguished than you may have been invited by him,

8“When you are invited by someone to a wedding feast, do not sit down [to eat] at the place of honor, since a more distinguished person than you may have been invited by the host, [Prov 25:6, 7]

8“When you are invited to a wedding banquet, do not sit in the place of honor, in case someone more distinguished than you has been invited.

8When thou art bidden of any man to a marriage feast, sit not down in the chief seat; lest haply a more honorable man than thou be bidden of him,

8When thou shalt be bidden of any man to a wedding, set not thy selfe downe in the chiefest place, lest a more honourable man then thou, be bidden of him,

8He said, “Suppose someone invites you to a wedding feast. Do not take the place of honor. A person more important than you may have been invited.

8‘When someone asks you to come to a special meal, do not sit in the best place. A man that is more important than you may come later.

8“When you may be called by anyone to wedding feasts, you may not recline on the first couch, lest [one] more honorable than you may have been called by him,
