Luke 20:5

5They discussed it among themselves and said, “If we say, ‘From heaven,’ he will ask, ‘Why didn’t you believe him?’

5They deliberated among themselves and said, “If we say, ‘From heaven,’ He will ask, ‘Why did you not believe him?’

5And they reasoned with themselves, saying, If we shall say, From heaven; he will say, Why did ye not believe him?

5And they reasoned within themselues, saying, If we shall say, From heauen, he will say, Why then beleeued ye him not?

5They reasoned with themselves, saying, “If we say, ‘From heaven,’ he will say, ‘Why didn’t you believe him?’

5They talked to one another about it. They said, “If we say, ‘From heaven,’ he will ask, ‘Why didn’t you believe him?’

5The Jewish leaders talked to each other about Jesus' question. They said, ‘We could say that God gave John his authority. But if we say that, Jesus will say to us, “Then you should have believed John.”

5And they reasoned with themselves, saying, “If we may say, From Heaven, He will say, Why, then, did you not believe him?
