Malachi 1:3

3but Esau I have hated, and I have turned his hill country into a wasteland and left his inheritance to the desert jackals.”

3instead of Esau. I have turned Esau’s hill country into a dry and empty land. I left that land of Edom to the wild dogs in the desert.”

3But I have not loved Esau and his descendants.

Instead, I have caused trouble for Esau. I caused Esau's mountains to become a wilderness. Nobody uses that land any longer. Now there are only jackals in the land that belongs to Esau.’
