Matthew 19:7

7“Why then,” they asked, “did Moses command that a man give his wife a certificate of divorce and send her away?”

7They *said to Him, “Why, then, did Moses command to give her a certificate of divorce and send her away?”

7The Pharisees said to Him, “Why then did Moses command us to give her a certificate of divorce and send her away?” [Deut 24:1-4]

7“Why then,” they asked, “did Moses order a man to give his wife a certificate of divorce and send her away?”

7They say unto him, Why then did Moses command to give a bill of divorcement, and to put her away?

7They said to him, Why did then Moses commaund to giue a bill of diuorcement, and to put her away?

7They asked him, “Why then did Moses command us to give her a certificate of divorce and divorce her?”

7They asked, “Then why did Moses command that a man can give his wife a letter of divorce and send her away?”

7Then the Pharisees said to Jesus, ‘Moses said that a man could write a letter to say that he and his wife are no longer married. Then the man can send the woman away. Why did Moses say this?’

7They say to Him, “Why then did Moses command to give a roll of divorce, and to put her away?”
