35He will not accept any compensation;

he will refuse a bribe, however great it is.

35He will not accept any settlement,

Nor will he be satisfied though you make ita large gift.

35He will not accept any ransom [offered to buy him off from demanding full punishment];

Nor will he be satisfied though you offer him many gifts (bribes).

35He will not be appeased by any ransom,

or persuaded by lavish gifts.

35He will not regard any ransom;

Neither will he rest content, though thou givest many gifts.

35He cannot beare the sight of any raunsome: neither will he consent, though thou augment the giftes.
