Ruth 1:20

20“Don’t call me Naomi,1:20 Naomi means pleasant.” she told them. “Call me Mara,1:20 Mara means bitter. because the Almighty1:20 Hebrew Shaddai; also in verse 21 has made my life very bitter.

20But she said to them, “Do not call me 1:20 I.e., pleasantNaomi; call me 1:20 I.e., bitterMara, for 1:20 Heb Shaddaithe Almighty has dealt very bitterly with me.

20She said to them, “Do not call me I.e. pleasantNaomi; call me I.e. bitterMara, for the Almighty has dealt very bitterly with me.

20She said to them, “Do not call me Naomi (sweetness); call me Mara (bitter), for the Almighty has caused me great grief and bitterness.

20“Do not call me Naomi,1:20 Naomi means pleasant.” she replied. “Call me Mara,1:20 Mara means bitter. because the Almighty1:20 Hebrew Shaddai; also in verse 21 has dealt quite bitterly with me.

20“Don’t call me Naomi,” she told them. “Call me Mara. The Mighty One has made my life very bitter.
